You won't always feel like it...

Sometimes I have tons of energy and motivation to hit the gym and get in a good workout. And sometimes I just don't.

But the key is consistency.

Sometimes my body tells me I need a break and I listen to it. When I do take a break at these times, I come back to things stronger, with renewed vigor.

But other times I know it's not a break that's needed, but rather fortitude. These are the times I just have to tell myself regardless of how I feel, I'm just gonna do it.

Last night was one of those nights. I needed to go to the gym, but after a busy day, I had zero energy and interest. But I was determined to go, so I went and simply got started. I didn't have a great workout, but I did put forth effort and as a result, I had a good workout. And I felt better than I would have if I had caved in to my feelings and stayed home on the couch.

Whether it's a fitness goal you are working on or another goal, sometimes you just have to do it. Move past your feelings and get your mind in the mode... your body will follow. If you can't get your mind in the mode, then move on to making your body do it anyway. You will feel better and be glad you did. And you will be one step closer to your dream. :)
